As part of our core business, DSL provides operators and drilling contractors with a wide range of construction services covering most work-scopes associated with rig and drilling-package upgrades, refurbishment and repair — on either a turnkey or individual work-scope basis.
The Apache Forties Field in the North Sea is a good example of the breadth of support we provide: a turnkey upgrade and refurbishment of the drilling packages and systems across four platforms, spanning project management, engineering and detailed design, fabrication, and offshore installation and commissioning.
That work included structural analysis and refurbishment of derrick capacity, variable-frequency-drive systems, third mud pumps, rig-skidding drag chains, mud-system conversions, cuttings re-injection, electrical load calculations and switchboard upgrades, and top-drive system integration — illustrating the range of assistance we can provide on your installation.
