Weatherford Pipe Handling Retrofits on Jack-Up Derricks

Working with Weatherford, DSL engineered, supplied and installed derrick modification kits and the Iron Derrickman racking system on the ENSCO 71 and Transocean Monarch jack-ups, and designed and fabricated new automated racking boards.

Weatherford needed the jack-up derricks on the ENSCO 71 and the Transocean Monarch modified to accept its Iron Derrickman racking system, an automated pipe handling retrofit that called for derrick modification kits and new racking board assemblies.

DSL worked closely with Weatherford to carry out the engineering, design and supply of the derrick modification kits for both rigs. The design and manufacturing phases were followed by turnkey installation and outfitting of the derrick modifications and the Iron Derrickman racking system by our team.

DSL also designed and fabricated the new automated racking board assemblies on behalf of Weatherford.
