RFID Asset Tagging Across a Middle East Rig Fleet

DSL tagged key assets on several rigs in the Middle East with RFID and loaded them into RigCentral, giving a large rig operator full visibility of documentation, expiry dates and maintenance records.

A large rig operator approached DSL for a way to manage the assets on board its rigs in the Middle East region. The operator needed clear visibility of each item, its documentation and its maintenance history, while staying compliant with legislation.

DSL proposed combining our RigCentral asset management software with RFID tagging, giving point of access availability to item documentation, expiry dates, maintenance records and more.

A dedicated team of DSL asset technicians installed RFID tags onto key assets on board several rigs and completed client specific documentation for each asset identified. Throughout the project the data was available to the client on RigCentral tablet PCs, both locally and globally once synchronised to the RigCentral web portal.
